The Cornish Branch of the HRCA was founded in 1990 and meet in Cambourne Community Centre several times a year. There are always several layouts running at their meetings.

The annual subscription charge is ploughed back into members benefits such as hall hire and insurance. There is no charge to attend meetings or the group's annual show! Subscription Rates: £10.00 per year.

HRCA Preston Brook Branch (North Western Area)

This is a regional branch of the Hornby Railway Collectors' Association, which holds regular evening meetings in Preston Brook Village Hall. There is no publication or subscription, although those attending meetings are expected to make a small contribution towards hall hiring costs.

The Thames Valley Group of the HRCA holds informal gatherings, usually on the second Wednesday of each month, at St Johns’ Hall, Mortimer, Berks, RG7 3TF (The January meeting is usually held at Grazeley, near J11 of the M4, and October usually has a date change, so ring/email to check these before travelling!) Meetings invariably include at least 2 ‘O’ gauge layouts, with Clockwork and Electric trains, and both 2-and 3-rail Dublo layouts. Members also bring other displays from time to time on specific topics, contemporary manufacturers etc: Generally 4 -6 traders in attendance offering wide range of toy trains and accessories. Good Refreshments available at the meeting, also local facilities include a chip shop and the all-important (free-to-use!) cashpoint for when the dealers turn up that ‘must-have’ item!

Group membership is entirely informal – most are HRCA members – but TCS members are most welcome to attend. There is a flat rate of £1 per evening to cover expenses (traders pay a little more.) Meetings run from 5pm – 10pm, except for the End of Year celebration, which is an all day session between Christmas and New Year (additional to the evening meets). HRCA Wessex Group

The Wessex Group of the HRCA was formed in 1994 and now has between forty and fifty members. The group holds evening meetings almost every month throughout the year which are for running and discussing Hornby '0' Gauge, Clockwork and Electric and Hornby Dublo 2 and 3 rail. Bassett Lowke and Wrenn are also acceptable!

The meetings are held at Stapehill Church Hall, Wimborne Road West, Stapehill, Ferndown, Nr Wimborne, Dorset. This location is just off Canford Bottom roundabout on the A31. Prospective members are most welcome to attend. Tea and biscuits are also available. There is a charge of £1.50 on the door for adults, although children are admitted free! Running dates scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays on alternate months. All events are from 7.30pm until 10.30. The group also take part in a number of exhibitions, usually in co-operation with other clubs and societies, These events are always well advertised in the model press.

Originally formed as the Sussex Vintage Model Railway Club it was re-constituted under the present name in 1992. The club has regular meetings in Brighton (Last Friday of each month) and Horsham (Second Friday each month). There is usually a theme set for the meetings and members bring items to fit in with the theme. The club owns controllers and '0' gauge and '00' gauge track, which is used for running at the meetings.

The club holds an annual exhibition in Brighton and members provide exhibits and layouts for a number of other shows including Model World. Although the club does not publish a newsletter there is no geographical restriction on membership. Some members travel from London to attend meetings! Social events include a Christmas Party. The society produces sweatshirts featuring the club logo. The Membership year begins in September.

Founded in June 1962, the society has been in existence for more than 40 years. It is very friendly and informal in nature and comprises people engaged in modelling railways in most scales including N, HO, OO and O. As well as modelling railways, the society holds video shows, an annual modelling contest and many social events. Members' families are more than welcome to attend any of the club organised events, such as dinners, - Christmas and Summer celebrations, held at a local family restaurant or pub - visits to prototype railways and rail-tours.

The society meets every Wednesday night in its Erith clubrooms, but we are in the enviable position of not having to share our facilities with anybody else so the rooms are available all week and the weekend. Some of our members also meet on a Tuesday evening to work on the various club layouts that we are currently building. To help our active 'project groups' we have set-up a 4-track 'OO' layout and a 2-track 'N' layout oval circuits; these are also available for other members to bring and test/ run their own stock.

The society is always looking for new members, particularly young members who will form the backbone of the society in coming years.
