Paya Trains
An Editorial comment from the May 1988 Edition of the TCS News
After publishing the Archive articles on the Web Site, the following message was posted on the TCS E-group by Hans van Dissel one of our members. I enjoyed the
Archive section on the site very much, especially the items on Stronlite and
Paya. I happen to have the electric loco the then editor Peter Randall was
lusting after - having bought it around 1988 - and it ran fine until the
terrible quality of the mazac (zamac) wheels (they literally fell apart) showed
itself. A couple of years ago I was able to buy a replacement motor with wheels
on eBay Germany, where there was an importer/dealer who produced better quality
wheels, so I have got the loco upand running again. I have taken some pictures of my Paya electric, which I enclose herewith. I had saved the sad remains of the original motor and wheels, so I've made a picture of those.
Thanks very much Hans
