The club aims to keep the heritage of tinplate toy trains alive and to contribute to a better educational and cultural knowledge of antique toys. CFE publishes a quarterly bulletin with articles on history, technical matters and classified ads. Backnumbers are available to members on a CD. Spare parts available through membership include wheels, miniature figures and other replacement parts. Meetings are held twice a month in Paris , usually the first Saturday and the third Wednesday of the month. These are at the Espace Maison Blanche at Chatillon (Metro 13, Chatillon-Montrouge station). The society also has stands at major toy sales in Paris (Toy Show, Toymania) on which members can sell surplus stock.

Subscription Rates: 50 Euros. This must be paid either in cash, in person or by a cheque drawn on a French bank. A sample Bulletin is available for 8 Euros.

The Dutch HRCA was founded in March 1993 and was accepted as a branch of the UK based Hornby Railway Collectors Association in 1995. Although the club is primarily intended as a Dutch group of the UK HRCA, some members from Belgium have joined the group.

People interested in toy trains are welcome to come along to a meeting, but to become a member of the group you will need to become a member of the HRCA. The group has a series of meetings in members' homes and an annual general meeting. They also have an annual exhibition and provide layouts for swapmeets and shows in Holland.

Members collect Hornby O gauge and Hornby Dublo trains made by Meccano Ltd. Collections also include products from other makers, particularly Australian firms such as Robilt and Ferris. Membership is Australia-wide with branches in all states. Formed in 1978, the HRCAA has over 300 members including overseas members. It publishes a high-quality quarterly journal in full colour with up to 40 pages per issue, containing photographs, articles, etc. Meetings are held regularly throughout the year and several auctions are conducted. Members also participate in exhibitions and social events.

The HRCA of New Zealand was formed in 1994 for those interested in Hornby '0' Gauge and Hornby Dublo, although those interested in other makes are also welcome. The club currently has around 120 members (including 7 overseas) and holds regular meetings in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Non members are welcomed. There is also a bi-monthly publication called 'New Zealand Hornby Railway Collectors Association Newsletter', which has a colour cover. There are four annual shows in Auckland, Rotorura, Wellington and Christchurch which are open to the public.

The subscription year begins in January.

The HRCA of South Africa was founded in August 1995. The Association has 75 members of whom 6 members reside outside of South Africa, as far away as the UK. The members' primary interests are the collection, running and preservation of original Hornby (Meccano Ltd.) products. The chapters also participate in local toy fairs and model railway and hobby shows, by providing layouts. The Gauteng chapter exhibits at the Annual Meccano Exhibition in Johannesburg which is arranged by The Transvaal Meccano Guild and the HRCASA. There is also an informative bi-monthly newsletter, which plays a vital role in maintaining communication between all members, including those in other countries.

The Ives Train Society was formed in January 1935 and proudly claims to be the oldest in the world! The Society currently has around 240 members and produces two publications: 'Ives Tracks' is a very informative quarterly newsletter which includes a very useful directory of resources for Ives parts and information. 'Ties' is a much higher quality publication produced each year with great articles and high quality photographs. There are also technicians, who can offer repair advice and information. The Society meets each April and October in York , Pennsylvania . Non members are most welcome. There are also local groups who meet quarterly and hold social events. The Society also takes tables at local shows to promote interest in Ives and of course membership! The LGB Model Railroad Club is an American club for the owners and operators of Lehman Gross Bahn (LGB) which was founded in 1977. They publish a bi-monthly magazine 'Big Train Operator' and hold a 5 day annual convention at a different location each year, which is usually open to the public for one day. They have around 2100 members. The membership year runs from the date of joining.

The LCCA was founded on 1st August 1970 and now has a membership of approximately 11,000. The members interests are mainly Lionel Three Rail trains, however there are many who specialize in other makes and gauges, such as: American Flyer, MTH, Weaver, Marx etc. The club sponsors local train meets wherever there is an interest, as well as an annual convention which moves about the country. The year 2001 convention will be held in Lexington, Kentucky and the year 2002 convention will be in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The LCCA has two premier publications: 'The Lion Roars' is a multi-page four colour magazine, which is published six times per year on even numbered months. On odd numbered months the club publishes 'Interchange Tracks', a buy-sell-swap newsletter which is the preferred source of price and availability of all trains being offered nationally.

Applicants for membership must be 21 years old. Further details can be obtained by writing to the above address or visiting the Web Site. Subscription Rates: US$ 30.00 per year billed on a quarterly basis. One time initiation fee: US$ 10.00. Overseas postage surcharge of US$ 12.00

The Lionel Operating Train Society was formed in 1979 and now has around 2500 members. The latest Lionel catalog is posted on our website for your early viewing pleasure. There is an annual convention at a different city in the US each year. This also includes their annual train meet/swap meet which is open to the public.

This is a 'Virtual' club, without any of the grind and best of all -  no subscription! The club meets regularly on the internet, so there is no publication. The web site features photos supplied by members, there is a virtual swapmeet, auction reports and news of interest to collectors in the USA. The beauty of this arrangement is that is doesn't matter where you are, you can still join in all that is going on. Why not look them up?

The Toy Train Operating Society was founded in 1966 and incorporated in 1968. There are now 6800 members in the United States, Canada and around the The Society now has twenty two active divisions in the USA and Canada, which hold monthly or quarterly meetings and swap meets. The society also produces a professional quality journal filled with a classified advertisement paper called "Order Board" in which members can advertise their sales and wants for free! The Society hold their convention in a different location each year and event.

The Train Collectors Association was founded in 1954 and currently has around 31,000 members! The association publishes 'Train Collectors Quarterly' and holds a national convention in June at a different location each year. The 2004 venue is Pittsburgh Pennsylania from 20th - 27th June. There are also the 'Train Meets' at York Pennsylvania each April and October. To gain admittance to these events you must be accompanied by a TCA member and there is a one-time rule for admittance as a guest.

The TCA also operates the National Toy Train Museum in Strasburg which includes a reference library which is open to the public. The Library hours are 8:30am to 4pm Tues, Wed, Thur & Fri., and alternate Saturdays (10am to 4:30pm) Apr. thru Dec. Museum Opening Hours are 10 to 5pm on the following days: Weekends in April, November and December. Daily May 1st through October 31st plus York convention week, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Thanksgiving Friday and December 26-31.

To join the TCA you need to be recommended by two current members. The subscription year starts the quarter when one joins the Association. Subscription Rates:  $25 (Includes $4.50 for National Headquarters News and $12.00 for the Train Collectors Quarterly. ) plus $25 joining fee
