Stronlite Article from the March 1988 Edition of the TCS News
After publishing the Archive articles on the Web Site, the following message was posted on the TCS E-group by Willem JJ Boot. Stronlite was an export label of the Japanese brand Seki, a company residing in Tokyo in the pre-1939 period. The 2-6-0 engines shown has the frame and mechanism of the Japanese outlined C584 Seki engines, whose production appear to have ceased in 1938 when the Japanese government ordered industry to switch to war production. Quality of the Seki engines was very high. It appears the Stronlite trains have been exported to the UK, France and The Netherlands. Seki's successor after 1945 was the Sakai brand, whose trains strongly remind of the Seki product range, but were of lesser quality compared to Seki's. The Seki trains have been exported to different countries under the brand name "Bryant" too, but until now, I am not sure which models bore that brand name.
