Rocky Mountaineer is a Canadian tour company offering Western Canadian vacation packages that operates trains on four rail routes through British Columbia and Alberta. The Locomotive is based on the EMD GP40-2 4-axle diesel locomotive built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division . Power was provided by an EMD 645E3 16-cylinder engine which generated 3000 horsepower
